Torrent Mame Full Set Roms

I've used various emulators years ago and now that I am building a virtual pin with Pinballx I wanted to incorporate MAME to use with my X-Arcade Tankstick.
I installed MAME64UI and downloaded MAME 0.159 from links found on the Pleasure Dome. The download of 0.159 was over 30Gb and I thought contained ROMs. I placed the zipped ROMs into the ROMs folder but almost all games do noy seem to work.
I also installed what I thought were all BIOs needed.
Being unfamiliar with the set up, and searching the web and forums, can someone please give me an overview of what I have done wrong or still need to do?
I am confused about what 0.159 actually is, do I still need additional files?
